گفتنی است: بیت امام راحل در محله یخچال قاضی قم قرار دارد، این بیت در سال 1335 هـ . ش خریداری شده و ایشان تا آخرین روزها و ساعاتی كه در قم بودند، در همین خانه ساده می‏زیستند.

بیت امام حدود یك‏صد سال پیش بنا شده و شامل دو طبقه، سرداب و همكف می‏باشد.

در قسمت جنوبی بنا، حیاط ساختمان واقع شده است و در جهات شمال، شرق و غرب آن فضاهای سرپوشیده قرار دارد.

در وسط بنا، راه پله‏ای است كه ساختمان را به دو بخش بیرونی (شرقی) و اندرونی (غربی) تقسیم می‏كند. در بخشِ بیرونی ساختمان، اتاق بزرگی واقع شده كه سال‏ها پذیرای مستمعان و شاگردان حضرت امام بوده است.

سخنرانی تاریخی امام علیه لایحه انجمن‏های ایالتی و ولایتی در سال 1341 هـ . ش در این مكان برگزار شد.

آخرین سخنرانی امام در منزل یخچال قاضی، در چهارم آبان 1343 هـ . ش علیه قانون كاپیتولاسیون بود. صبح آن روز گروه‏های مختلفی از مردم به منزل امام(س) آمدند تا سخنرانی ایشان را بشنوند.

در همین سخنرانی بود كه فرمودند: «قلب من در فشار است... ناراحتم... ایران دیگر عید ندارد. عید ایران را عزا كردند. ما را فروختند... عظمت ایران از بین رفت...». چند روز پس از این سخنرانی، در روز سیزدهم آبان ماه، پس از هجوم به بیت امام و دستگیری ایشان، به تركیه تبعید شدند.
